The Bartlett Foundation

About us

Making a difference

We believe that business has a responsibility and unique opportunity to be a force for positive change and to give back to the communities around us. Each year we give at least 8% of profits to organisations working to improve the lives of young people in the UK and abroad.

We aim to be informed, thoughtful funders so our support makes a meaningful difference. We build long-term relationships and provide multi-year, unrestricted funding, giving organisations the stability, confidence and freedom to focus on impact, not short-term fundraising.

But that’s not all. On top of donations, our people offer time, expertise and practical, hands-on support through employee volunteering.

Creating positive change for young people

Giving back together

Colleagues across Bartlett play an active role in supporting our communities. They give their time, energy and support in practical ways—from hands-on work to improve outdoor community spaces, to hosting career events for young people and participating in grant-making panels.

We also support individual initiatives through matched funding – from bake sales to personal challenges. And each year, our Corporate Challenge brings together colleagues to raise funds through a demanding physical event.

Careers evening

Our People Services team has hosted two Careers Evenings at our Head Office to support young women from South Leeds. Through informal workshops on topics like apprenticeships, career pathways, CV and interview skills, colleagues shared their knowledge and encouragement, helping to build confidence and open doors. Attendees gained insight into different career pathways in Financial Services, the skills employers value most and how to ‘sell’ themselves to prospective employers.

The Valley Project

Over 35 Bartlett employees volunteered at The Valley Project last year, rolling up their sleeves to help improve outdoor spaces for young people by clearing up leaves, painting containers and preparing areas for future development.

Matched funding

Matched funding means Bartlett supports everything from small bake sales to ambitious adventures. Over the past year, colleagues have pushed themselves with major personal challenges—from marathons and triathlons to climbing Kilimanjaro—while 50 employees came together for our Corporate Challenge event, climbing Helvellyn as many times as possible in a single (wet and windy) day.

How can we help?
